Task: Removal of this urban “eyesore” from 1991 and reclamation of the property, which is located in an excellent suburban site with excellent transport and traffic connectivity.

A new gateway to the city
With the complete refurbishment and partial new construction of the site on the south-eastern outskirts of Querfurt, a new attractive business and retail center is being created.
The range of goods on offer will be expanded: The former mono-occupancy of the real-SB department store will be replaced by a wide and varied range of goods – a revitalization of the entire suburban area.
A new, attractive „gateway” to the city of Querfurt is being created.
The concept
The new business and retail center „Nebraer Tor” – a real asset for the town of Querfurt itself and the entire Querfurt area. The concept: revitalization through full refurbishment of part of the existing building stock as well as further partial refurbishment and partial demolition and new construction. Complete refurbishment and expansion of the type of use: new, significantly broader range of goods for the citizens of Querfurt as well as customers and visitors from the surrounding area.
Important contribution to urban development
A vacant, unattractive old commercial building and an almost derelict parking lot – this is how the area on the outskirts of Querfurt currently looks in 2025.
At the same time, however, the site is in a prime suburban location with excellent traffic connectivity. The complete refurbishment with partial new construction is therefore an important contribution to urban development. An urban „eyesore” is disappearing and being replaced by real utility value with new retail facilities. Querfurt's attractiveness will increase and the town's market area will be strengthened overall.
The new business center brings the lost purchasing power back into the city's market area and strengthens Querfurt's „central importance” as a „shopping city” in the region. This will benefit the city as a whole – and the down town center as well.

The retail park was previously only accessible via the entrance and exit on the south-eastern boundary of the property on the main road „vor dem Nebraer Tor”.
As part of the revitalization, the new business and retail center will be given an additional, fully-fledged transport connection in the north-western area. This new traffic connectivity close to the city will facilitate direct access for car customers from Querfurt as well as the delivery of goods.
