Competition for purchasing power
"We are creating 14,000m² of new operating space so that the city can compete in the region."
Bernhard Reiser, Architect
Conception
Retail park on a large, fallow plot of land at the main entrance from Bundesstraße 54 into the city.
MESA developed a specialist retail concept to position the city competitively in competition with the neighbouring town of Ochtrup and the FOC under development there.
The planned retail park has a size of 14,000m² of operating space and 400 parking spaces. A classic strip mall concept with great architecture and an occupation with hypermarket, consumer electronics, specialty stores and service companies.

Status
Unfortunately, the developed project did not find a majority in the city council, as they feared competition with their own city center and did not want to follow considerations that the purchasing power outflow to the planned FOC in Ochtrup will take place through the retail park. Consequently, the project has not yet been realized.
